For the first time , the traditionnal world of Fado will be broadcasted life to second life, it's an event related to the Land of Dream Organisation (Terra dos Sonhos) with the support of CCV (Comunidade Cultural Virtual).
It's a first time worldwide Fado as life event in Second Life, the show will be broadcasted live from Alfama Fado's club in Lisbon Portugal.

"The jury of the 5th edition of the World Press Cartoon awards was gathered in Sintra on the 9th, 10th and 11th of February. This year, the awarded drawings come from Spain, Brazil, Holland, Hungary, Luxemburg, Mexico, Portugal and Serbia. The winners of the overall 9 prizes in each of the 3 categories and the Grand Prix will be revealed in a ceremony to take place at the Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval in Sintra on the 17th of April."

Everyear Sintra becames Cartoon capital. This year is no exception. A ceremony to take place at the Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval in Sintra (Portugal) on the 17th of April, will reveal the winners of the overall 9 prizes in each of the 3 categories and the Grand Prix of World Press Cartoon 2009. For this edition, 848 cartoons from 428 authors and 72 different nationalities were received . These works have been published in 399 newspapers and magazines from 69 countries. This year, the awarded drawings come from Spain, Brazil, Holland, Hungary, Luxemburg, Mexico, Portugal and Serbia.
And especially this year, this event will come into the virtual of Second Life®. Through a partnership between World Press Cartoon and Associação Comunidade Cultural Virtual, drawings will be on a exhibition opening tomorrow 16th April, simultaneously with a real life exhibition at the Sintra Museum of Modern Art Berardo Collection, till 14th June.
On tomorrow's event, Orangelife Holmer, known portuguese singer, will perform on the opening of an exhibition that will be the beggining of the voyage that this exhibition will perform in both worlds, showing that Second Life will always be one of the best global communication platforms.
On the 17th, the cerimony at Sintra, will be transmited to the internet, with the announce of the 10 winners, and ending with the performance of another portuguese well known performer, TB Andel.
Curiosity is that on the Sintra's cerimony, will be presented a machinima movie filmed in Second Life for this event by Halden Beaumont, one of the best machinima directors on Second Life®.
This event is supported by Expresso, SIC Notícias, Wolkswagen, Samsung, Estoril Sol and Portugal Telecom Foundation. In the in world events and internet transmissions, is supported by Associação Comunidade Cultural Virtual (Virtual Cultural Community Association).

Reis is a project where Graça Reis (or just Reis) is the voice, and Aldo Brizzi is composer, keyboards and electronics. Together they are charming the world: started on Brazzil and Europe, now spreading to the whole world performing on Second Life.
Concerts are unique, visually and on the songs: originals and remixes in portuguese, french, italian, english, songs by Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes.
Currently they are on a contest on Conexao Vivo contest.
They have won the first part of the artists on the contest as public's choice, and now they are on the final. Today is the last day for voting on their profile here. Performing on Second Life has certainly helped them promoting their project for public all over the world. Help them showing how the use of virtual tools on the internet can help an artist to gain thousands of fans!
Tomorrow, another step: at 22H GMT or 2PM SL time, they will performing on Second Life, at Alma Island but connected and interacting to the internet networking main sites: Twitter and Facebook. Dos vários espaços virtuais idealizados para o evento, foi construída uma ilha com 65,536 metros quadrados, inspirada no tema Cidadania Digital por alguns artistas portugueses, para servir como tela ao Workshop de Machinima."
